Hand-Carved Shan Mu Wood Basket  This unique piece of nature, and one-of-a-kind basket is carved from the base and main root of the Shan Mu tree, which grows exclusively in the high mountain region of mainland China. Skilled artisans there dig up the root and kiln dry it for 4-12 days before carving each piece. The base or stump of the tree produces the bowl portion, and a connecting root forms the handle. Each unique piece bears the Chinese logging stamp and the individual carver’s name or chop. Choose from small (about 9” diameter) at $48.95, medium (about 11" diameter) at $59.95, or large (12” – 14” diameter) at $79.95. A work of art that will become a family heirloom.
